Chicago Irish Immigrant Support is a not-for-profit organization which serves the needs of Irish immigrants and Irish Americans in the Chicago area and beyond.

 

We are a direct services agency providing frontline immigration services and social services.  We have a particular emphasis on serving the needs of our most vulnerable community members, especially the elderly.

 

We are a free and confidential service.

Annual Gala Dinner Dance

We are excited to announce that our third annual Gala Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, October 2nd 2010.  The event will be held at the Irish American Heritage Center's newly remodeled ballroom for the first time.

UPDATE: DV Lottery 2012

Information on the next round of the green card lottery (DV-2012) has been posted on the US State Department website and pasted below.

 

The big changes from last year are:

 

1.The application period this year is only 30 days, from October 5th   until November 3rd;

2.Winners will no longer be notified by mail. Everyone must check online next spring to verify if they have been selected.

 

Natives of the same countries as last year are eligible to apply again this year.

DV Lottery 2012 Online Registration

The online registration for DV-2012 DV Lottery begins noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT -4), Tuesday, October 5, 2010, and ends noon, Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT -5), Wednesday, November 3, 2010. 

All entries must be submitted electronically during the registration period, when applicants may access the Electronic DV Entry Form DS-5501 at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. Paper entries will not be accepted. 

Applicants are strongly encouraged not to wait until the last week of the registration period to enter.  Heavy demand may result in website delays.  No entries will be accepted after noon, EST, on November 3, 2010.

SENIOR GROUP MEETINGS

Senior Group Meetings at Gaelic Park and the Irish American Heritage Center

We are plesed to announce that our senior group meetings are reconvening in September. Meetings take place weekly and alternate between Gaelic Park on the southside and the Irish American Heritage Center on the northside. Meetings are held on Thursdays between 10am and noon.
